Cultural Deep Dive: Connecting with the Karamojong people in Moroto to learn about their semi-nomadic traditions and vibrant homesteads (Manyattas).

The "Big Five" and Beyond: Tracking wild rhinos on foot at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and searching for lions, leopards, and Rothschild giraffes in the northern savannah.

Primate Tracking: Many variations of this 14-day itinerary also include trekking for chimpanzees in Kibale National Park or mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

The Beginning of the Trek

Day 1: Arrival in Uganda: Entebbe Airport

  • On your arrival, you will receive warm greetings from your driver guide and transfer to Kampala. If you arrive in morning hours, you can take a city tour in Kampala, visit Kasubi Tombs, Bahai Tempo and Nakasero Fruits market where you can interact with Kampala’s friendly people.

Day 2: Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary & Murchison Falls

  • After breakfast, drive north to Murchison Falls National Park with a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking. Proceed to the park and visit the top of Murchison Falls, where the Nile forces its way through a narrow gorge.

Day 3: Morning Game Drive & Boat Cruise

  • Enjoy an early morning game drive on the northern bank. Expect sightings of elephants, giraffes, lions, and buffalo. In the afternoon, take a boat cruise  along the Nile to the base of the falls, spotting hippos, crocodiles, and aquatic birds.

Day 4: Transfer to Moroto

  • Depart for Moroto,  a scenic drive through Eastern Uganda with changing landscapes. Arrive in the evening for check-in, dinner, and rest.

Day 5: Cultural Experience & Mountain Nature Walk

  • Today, visit the Karimojong communities to experience their unique culture, dance, and way of life. Later, enjoy a guided nature walk on Mount Moroto, discovering local flora and panoramic views.

Day 6: Transfer to Sipi & Coffee Tour

  • Travel to the beautiful Sipi Falls region on the slopes of Mount Elgon. After check-in, enjoy a local coffee experience—learn to harvest, roast, and brew your own cup.

Day 7: Abseiling & Sipi Falls Hike

  • Adventure day! Go abseiling down Sipi Falls (optional and guided), then take a **short hike** to all three waterfalls in the area with a local guide.

Day 8: Transfer to Jinja & Source of the Nile

  • Head to Jinja, the adventure capital of Uganda. After lunch, enjoy a boat ride to the Source of the Nile and explore the vibrant town.

Day 9: White Water Rafting & Busowoko Falls

  • Take on the Nile with a thrilling white-water rafting adventure (full or half-day options available). Later, visit the stunning Busowoko Falls for relaxation and photos.

Day 10: Visit CTC Conservation Center & Back to Kampala

  • Depart for CTC Conservation Center, an initiative supporting local wildlife and education. After the visit, drive back to Kampala and check into your hotel.

Day 11: Cultural Heritage Tour in Kampala

  • Explore Uganda’s history at the **Uganda Museum**, **Kasubi Tombs**, and other cultural sites. Learn about the Buganda kingdom and ancient traditions.

Day 12: Kampala Downtown Tour & Transfer to Entebbe

  • Spend your morning exploring Kampala’s downtown markets and local craft shops. In the afternoon, transfer to your hotel in Entebbe.

Day 13: Sailing to Shoebill Island

  • Take a relaxing boat trip to Shoebill Island, a birdwatcher’s haven. Spend the day unwinding in nature and return to Entebbe in the evening.

Day 13: Relaxation & Airport Drop-off

  • Enjoy a leisurely morning before being transferred to Entebbe Airport for your departure.
